Supporting Bright Minds

The Perry Phoenix Middle School project in Worthington, Ohio involved an 18-month addition and renovation effort for Worthington City Schools. Settle Muter Electric provided key infrastructure upgrades including service distribution, lighting, power systems, and fire alarm integration to support the evolving needs of the educational facility.

Working alongside Ruscilli Construction and Roger Fields Associates Inc., our team constructed a new 42,000 SF addition in just nine months.

This enabled the relocation of students while renovations were happening to the existing 83,000 SF structure during the second phase. This phased transition required careful sequencing, clear communication, and dependable system installation to maintain safety and continuity.

Project challenges included operating within a CM/GC structure and collaborating with a general contractor less familiar with electrical complexities. Despite these obstacles, we successfully installed a new 4,000-amp service, tied the existing building into the new distribution, and added a new generator to support life safety and backup power—ultimately delivering a modern, reliable learning environment.
