Whirlpool

As the leading manufacturer of home appliances, Whirlpool relies on top quality facilities to distribute their products. Not only do they focus on supplying the best appliances, but they depend on having a safe and secure establishment for distribution. The building controls at the Whirlpool Distribution center in Marion, Ohio were installed by SME over a six month period. The $78,000 project consisted of installations of building controls for the new facility.

The SME team installed a complete Siemens security system which included detection devices such as card readers, cameras and door access controls. Additional installations consisted of twenty-seven American Dynamics Indoor and Outdoor fixed Minidome Color Cameras and PTZ Dome system cameras, along with five Software House proximity readers. All outdoor cameras utilized fiber optic cabling. SME also installed sixty-four OHD door contacts and twenty-eight pedestrian door contacts per specification documents that were provided by Whirlpool.

In addition to the security system, the SME team ran conduit and wire in order to complete the electrical building controls system. SME worked closely with Pizzuti Construction in order to give Whirlpool the best building controls available, all within schedule and budget.
