TJX Data Controls

The TJX Companies, Inc. is ranked No. 125 in 2012’s Fortune 500 listings. It is the leading retailer of clothing and home décor at low prices worldwide. With revenues topping $23 billion and more than 2,900 store locations in six countries, TJX is one of the largest and fastest growing companies in the world. With that kind of dedication to customers, it is easy to see why TJX has grown to be the empire it is today.

In order to keep production moving, TJX’s Data Center expanded to Ohio. Because of the large amounts of computer systems in the data center, building controls are needed to keep electronics cool, so as to lower energy costs and raise safety of the facility and employees.

SME worked closely with Automated Logic, Holder Construction and EYP Mission Critical Facilities to install building controls for the 82,000 square foot Tier 3 data center. The systems consisted of monitoring and control of generators, computer room air handlers in two data halls, four chilled water systems with leak detection, battery rooms and VAV boxes and a fuel oil system.

SME performed complete offsite wiring of the entire network system mock-up prior to installation on-site and was completed within 12 weeks of schedule.
