The Builder’s Exchange of Central Ohio (BX) has nominated Settle Muter Electric’s Ray Conkle with the construction industry’s prestigious 2012 BX Craftsmanship Award. One of the highest honors for professionals in the commercial construction industry, the award recognizes outstanding work that elevates their respective trade to craft. Conkle was involved in the installation of a new mega watt ground mounted solar array located at Centerburg High School.
Demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship, Ray Conkle conquered many obstacles throughout the course of this project. The project required an aggressive schedule with only 26 days to complete nearly 4000 man hours of work. Within these 26 days, 400 solar modules, 18 string combiner boxes, and 3 300 KW inverters were installed. With more than 18 days of rain, Conkle managed to work through the inclement and stay on track for the 26 day project completion.
Throughout the project, Ray played a key role in the design, coordination, and execution of the project. Conkle noted “without impacting the project completion, there were many design revisions required for the project.” Using his wiring skills, Conkle managed to work through these revisions without causing a delay in the start up of the project.
