Ohio State Fire Academy
In 2009 SME was contracted by Siemens to assist with a design build renovation of the Fire Alarm, CCTV and Access Control systems at the State of Ohio Fire Marshall’s office and training academy located in Reynoldsburg Ohio. SME installed new systems campus wide and connected them through new fiber network. SME also provided a barrier gates with loop detection and camera capable intercom. This was connected to the new “CPASS” access control system which included new access control points, door locks, and a back-up ups system covering most of the campus, including the Arson investigation lab. This project posed interesting problems for the SME Team. We not only had to connect all of the buildings on campus but also had to maintain the operation of the existing system in the process. This project was completed in 6 months by a 6 man crew.
